I am sick of having to remind people of basic shit
“Use the names, pronouns and terminology that people are comfortable with” is fucking basic and every reasonable person should know this
“Don’t try to reclaim language that hasn’t been used to hurt YOUR GROUP specifically” is also something everyone should know
“There is something really wrong with the way you think if you honestly believe skimpy clothing causes or justifies rape” is pretty bleedin’ obvious
“Don’t barge into other people’s spaces and derail stuff”, again…did nobody teach you manners as a child? Fucking yuck.
“Don’t whine about someone’s tone or use privileged tears to get your way”…ugh.
Really, I doubt there’s anyone who is NOT sick of explaining this shit to people here, on FB, on other sites, offline, wherever, all the goddamn time.
“Marginalized groups don’t have the power to oppress themselves.” Basic shit that EVERYONE should know.
“Everyone has the right to react to their oppression however they wish.” Again, basic shit.
“If you do something fucked up/privileged and try to make excuses for it, then you will not earn my kindness.” You’d be surprised at the amount of people who don’t know this.
“Intersectionality matters.” ALL THE DAMN TIME! THERE ARE NO EXCEPTIONS! NONE!
Sheesh, you’d think that people would know better, but apparently they don’t. It sucks. :/
