Dear white queer people…

bookishboi:

goodbyecruelyouth:

If you see a post about racism, don’t derail with, “Oh, this happens to us (white) queers, too!”

Because…

  1. It’s derailing as fuck
  2. You fail at intersectionality and realizing *gasp* a lot of us are ALSO queer!
  3. You fail at checking your own whiteness and instead deflecting your whiteness by talking about your own oppression
  4. lol you really think you’re incapable of having white privilege and being oppressive yourself?  lol.

Yeah, I’m very fucking well aware you can experience similar things, you know, being queer as well.

But make your own fucking posts about it instead of derailing other people’s posts.

A lot of white queers find the anger of QPOC uncomfortable. Rather than acknowledge that our experiences are different, they insert their privilege, plug their ears, and are content screaming kumbaya over our voices which are barely heard in the first place.
